As diversity increasingly becomes a primary value for businesses across the nation, corporations are adopting Employee Resource Groups to facilitate change. On July 8, a panel of four experienced corporate managers and employees will discuss their experiences with ERGs and their role in promoting corporate diversity.

The Dynamics of Leadership conference panel -- titled "The Role of Employee Resource Group & Your Career - Representation/Advancement/Advocacy" -- will encourage attendees to think about the importance of having voluntary, employee-led teams in the creation of a level playing ground for minority groups. Each panelist will show you a handful of effective ways to use ERGs for growth, progress and career development.

Featured on the panel will be national and community leaders Tony Kee, George Mui, Amanthi Pendegraft and Salena Tong. The interactive discussion will be moderated by Bank of America Merrill Lynch Vice President and Commercial Associate Jessica Hamel, who leads market analysis, sales performance management and more in four states through her influential role.

Also a leader at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Kee is the Vice President and Divisional Sales Operations Manager for Retail Sales at his bank. He brings 10 years of experience in the finance industry in the panel and offers an inspiring story of advancement throughout organizations like Mass Mutual, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch -- in part, with the help of ERGs.

Mui, the Senior Business Development Specialist at the U.S. Minority Business Development Agency, has displayed a tremendous, award-winning passion for the Asian American advocacy in his lifetime. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor for the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Mui's knowledge of a variety of resources for minority professionals will help attendees utilize the benefits of ERGs.

A KPMG Advisory Director, Pendegraft has over 12 years of experience in delivering IT advisory and audit engagements. She currently serves as a committee member for two company groups that support women and diversity. With substantial experience in speaking and various industries, Pendegraft display how ERGs can change one's career for the better.

Tong is an Information Technology Manager at Mayo Clinic. With over 18 years of experience in the healthcare industry, she has serves in diverse roles on technical teams and seeks to integrate the rapid transformation of technologies across the company. On the panel, Tong volunteers her knowledge on how ERGs can help rising leaders gain support from peers, representation in their industries and advancement in their careers.
